Cartoony, badly shipped, but just my style May 13, 2011

"Lurking Consumer"
My husband and I registered for this item when we got married, and received it as a gift from an out-of-towner. As happened with other reviewers, the box came with two big rips in it, which did mean the screen inside was ripped. I called the company the screen came from, and even though I was not the person to buy or pay for the divider, they sent a replacement free of charge that came in great condition. They were very swift and friendly, and I got to keep the ripped one as well, which has been handy as we can use that one in cat-friendly rooms without worrying about damaging it.
As far as the item itself, it was not what I had been expecting based on the photo. I was expecting a realistic painting of a cherry blossom tree like a traditional shoji divider, but these were cartoony branches and blossoms. It looks like the picture, but somehow the picture makes it seem much more delicate than it looks full size. Speaking of full size, I knew these would be large, but I wasn't quite expecting it to be 6 feet tall and just as wide when flat. In the end though, i was very happy with the height as i have black bookcases that are the same height.
In the end, I love the dividers and they look great where I have them. 4/5.

By vinni The picture shows the cherry blossoms as red, that is what I hoped for and what would have matched. But instead this room divider actually has hot pink cartoon looking flowers. It actually looks comical, not beautiful. :(

Poor Packaging/Speedy replacement Sep 14, 2010
By Sijoya I ordered this item because i wanted to temporary divide my dinning area from my kitchen. The product arrived on time, with two LARGE cut on the box. At first i was going to return it without openning the package, but my son convince me to do other wise hoping the content would have been protected. Sure enough, the item was damage with 2 rips. One 4 inches long and the other 4 3/4 inches long. I was very disappointed. The item is very beautiful to look at, and serve the purpose intented, but i gave it 3 stars because of poor package. Spending my hard own cash on any item i expect it to be in excellent condition for what i paided for. To return the package i would have to pay an additonal $30.00, so i am stuck with it, and is thinking of "patching" it with something that is not noticeable. I hope the vender will read this comment and change the way they package this item.
An update on this item. September 23, 2010. I did spoke to the vender of this item concerning the item which is damage. Customer service was very courteous, and delt with the problem right away. I received a speedy replacement of the item, and now i am happy with my purchase. It is really a beautiful Piece!!!

By ashley I received the box with holes all over it and ripped. When I opened the box the screen was torn. Was kinda upset about that especially when it cost to have it shipped in such a large box that it was torn. The fabric screen part btw the frames tear easily. The material is thinner than it appears. Other than that I really like it and it works great for the room I was using it for.

By J Z I was cautious ordering this because of the previous reviews that noted the product came shipped already damaged. It arrived in just a few days, with extra cardboard packaging wrapped around it and fragile stickers everywhere. I opened it immediately to inspect it, finding it intact and exactly as I had expected. Looks like the seller has taken previous feedback and stepped up their shipping to help insure a safely delivered package. The design was just as it appeared online. It is more cartoonish than fine art, but works perfectly in an anime decorated room that I have planned to place it in. THe construction is not top notch, however, considering that I did not pay top dollar for this, it makes it well worth the purchase price. All in all, a slam dunk! I would recommend this whole heartedly.
