Mine arrived in perfect condition via FedEx. The screen/divider does a great job of partially separating my dining area from my kitchen, and also hides my wastebasket from view. Very sturdy, screen is well-made, gaps between panels are even throughout. Please see my 4 customer pics under the picture at the top of the product page! I'm thinking about ordering another one! (And you can see all my other reviews, I'm not a fake reviewer!)

This screen looks exactly the same as ones I've seen in retail stores for more than twice the price. As with most inexpensive Shoji screens, the material is thin and you need to be careful when moving it. As long as you're careful to always grab by the wood, and position it somewhere where no one will put a fist through it, it's not a problem.
Also, like other inexpensive screens, the material is all on one side of the wood pattern. That means that it looks much nicer from one side than the other. You'll find the same is true of all mass-produced Shoji screens, though.
The hinges are bi-fold, giving a lot of positioning flexibility. I have one positioned in a corner with a couple of cheap lamps behind it, which gives a nice diffuse ambient light.
Note that the cherry finish is a bit darker than shown in the picture. I was glad for this, as it means that it matches my cherry-finished furniture, but be aware that the lighting in the photograph must be very bright to make it look like that.

Fabric backing rips easily, very nice looking Oct 12, 2008
By M. Garza The fabric was ripped when it arrived, and has ripped easily since. I don't even know if it can be called fabric, it seems like a synthetic gauze type stuff. I do love how they look, and will serve their purpose for years I hope. Definitely worth it despite my negative remarks.

By Willowand I bought this item and unfortunately it arrived damaged. The company shipped me another one which came in perfect condition. I have this in my living room and the colors and style of this match my furniture perfectly. No matter who comes into my house I always receive compliments. It's a great piece to decorate with.

I honestly think this is a bargain. For the price you get something that looks clean and well made, and does the job.
Admittedly, the backing may rip (although mine hasn't) and if a child were to lean up against it, it would easily fall over. If you are looking for something a little sturdier I would perhaps recommend investing a little more. I am using mine to back up against a desk and hide all the cables from view, and it is perfect for the application.
